If you are looking for a fully certified Pilates Instructor that knows how to make you laugh while challenging your body at the same time; if you want to find movement that works for your body pre or post surgery, baby, illness or injury; even just to move better and feel better in your body, I’m the one for you! 

I’ve taught Pilates since 2010 with some barre and TRX thrown in for variety. I’m also certified in the MELT Method to Level 3. I’m dedicated to the Pilates method, your goals and I have an almost magic sense of knowing exactly what you need to make the movement right for you. I show up live and teach you online just as I would in person, by leading with my voice and offering helpful cues. I don’t do the workout for you to follow- but if you want that, no problem! Just check out my Pilates Membership group below. 

I’m a creative and resourceful teacher! I love to find new ways to use what you have around the house to enhance or support your workout. I keep things fresh with new variations when needed. I encourage groaning, I mean communication, about what you feel with the movement so you get what you need. If we need to adjust, we adjust! 

I understand personally what it’s like to:

  • Be a high performing athlete

  • Have to stop exercising for a year and get started again

And I know:

  • How it feels to be uncomfortable in your body 

  • How to learn to love yourself and find your true strength regardless of your size

  • What it’s like to overcome a serious illness

And a lot of things in between… I’m older than I look

I grew up in the theater, dancing, singing and acting. That’s where I get my discipline and how I found Pilates.

My dad told me at 19 that I should get my Pilates certification just to have it. I laughed at him and went back to New York City, where I was in college. I stayed and worked in PR. While being crushed by office life and sitting still for the first time in my life, I got very sick. I was diagnosed with severe Lyme Disease. I didn’t know I had been infected as a teen. I was so sick, I couldn’t stand up after sitting in my desk chair for too long. My legs collapsed and I would fall on the floor. A year of successful treatment and no exercise later, I was cleared for movement. Starting over with exercise was not easy but I did it. I returned to my favorite movement, Pilates. I was able to rebuild strength and atrophied muscles. I felt better but I still had a long way to go. 

I moved back to Nashville to learn to teach Pilates from my ballet teacher that forced me into— I mean introduced me— to Pilates. I didn’t mean to stay in Nashville but I did for 12 years. I recently moved to Memphis with my husband. Over the years of practicing and teaching Pilates, I’ve developed strength I never knew I had. I can do Push Ups now, after a lifetime of struggling! And I can teach you how to do them well too.

I started teaching Pilates Mat online and in people’s living rooms. Then I worked at different studios while finishing up my comprehensive training, to be a fully certified instructor. I started my own online studio in 2020. I still have my original private client! My clients have followed me from a few locations to my online space and are still getting quality instruction over Zoom.
